Course overview: Whether you're new to the wheel or returning to clay with fresh eyes, this 5-week course offers a hands-on introduction to the art of wheel throwing. Guided by experienced instructors in a welcoming studio environment, you'll learn the foundational techniques of centering, pulling, trimming, and glazing—while exploring the rhythm, patience, and joy that come with shaping clay. Each week builds on the last, helping you develop muscle memory, creative confidence, and a deeper connection to form and function. By the end of the course, you'll have a collection of finished pieces—and a new appreciation for the meditative power of the wheel. What you'll learn: - Centering clay and setting up your wheel - Throwing cylinders and bowls with control and intention - Trimming and refining your forms - Glazing basics and kiln overview - Studio etiquette and clay philosophy Who it's for: Beginners and curious makers of all backgrounds. No prior experience needed—just a willingness to get your hands dirty and your mind centered. What to bring: Comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a sense of play. All materials and tools provided.
